Our history

It all started in 2012. One day, Patricio, our founder, was surfing and suddenly, a lady saw that he was very good on the waves. She asked him to teach her 10-year-old son. The class was so great that the same lady recommended all her family and friends to contact Patricio to take surf lessons. Since then, we opened the first local surf school in Olon, named ESCUELA DE SURF OLON, with a surf stand located at the foot of Olón beach. Nowadays, we have our own office where we provide customer service and we have the surf shop, located one block from the beach, on Rosa Mistica street.
Iniciamos con el servicio sólo en Olón, pero ahora ya contamos con transporte privado y brindamos clases desde Ayampe hasta Punta Blanca.

Meet Patricio

Patricio, born on February 2, 1989 in Olon, comes from a local family consisting of his father Francisco and his mother Vicky. He began surfing at the age of 10, using wooden and artisanal fishing boards, learning by watching a prominent local surfer, Jacinto Salinas. With constant practice, he developed his technique and style, representing Olon in local and national tournaments, achieving good positions and even being champion on some occasions. Patricio graduated as an engineer in advertising graphic design at the Universidad Tecnologica Equinoccial in Quito. Currently, he is the main exponent of surfing in Olon, both as a surfer and coach, and speaks Spanish, English, and is learning French.

All of our 20 coaches are excellent surfers and some are national and international surf competitors, with more than 15 years of experience, bilingual in Spanish and English. Furthermore, and most importantly, they are very patient, fun and friendly.
